About the Role
We are looking for an Intern Pharmacist to join our team who is genuinely passionate about people and the health and wellbeing of our community.

In this role, your key responsibilities will be to:
– Support the daily operations of the pharmacy
– Counsel patients regarding medications to achieve optimal health outcomes
– Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently
– Provide professional services (ie. Medscheck, CPOPs & Vaccination)
– Support stock control processes including ordering products and invoicing
– Provide support and advice to the pharmacy team
– Dose Administration Aid Packings and Scripts follow-up

We are looking for:-
– Current registration with AHPRA
– Willingness to learn and develop
– Good communications and interpersonal skills
– Ability to address customer needs with sensitivity and professionalism
– A positive and supportive member of a team
– Organised, reliable with a strong work ethic
– This is a Full-time position working 38 hours per week (permanent weekend shift expected).

While working with Michael’s Group you will be exposed to many opportunities within Pharmacy. This includes, but is not limited to, full in-house Training Programs and External PD courses. Pharmaceutical Compounding and Medicinal Cannabis along with Webster Medication Packing. Insight into Retail and Stock Control and our Online Web Store(E-Commerce). All Michael’s Chemist stores include private treatments room for vaccinations and clinical services.

As well as this we work with a team of Allied Health Professionals in-store including Physiotherapists and Podiatrists and have great professional relationships with our local referring Doctors, Hospitals and Residential Aged Care Facilities.

Michael’s Group desires a proactive, self-motivated and organized candidate to join us as a Pharmacy Intern.  Training materials and onsite training in all aspects of the business will provided.

Hours may vary depending on store location.  Our stores are open between 8am -8pm most days.  Shift and hours will vary depending on your role and the store location.

Selection Criteria

• Be proficient in English.
• Previous exposure to Pharmacy industry software and technology
• Previous experience in a customer service role is highly regarded.
• Current First Aid/CPR
• Evidence of an open mindset towards working in a rapidly progressive environment

Pharmacy Profile
• We’re a busy metropolitan pharmacy with a loyal customer base located in the heart of Mosman Park. We have a keen focus on exceptional customer service and professional service provision. We aim to put the wellbeing of our customers and community at the centre of everything that we do.
• Our pharmacy employs experienced and dedicated staff who will all help to mentor, support and train you on your internship journey to becoming a highly competent and caring pharmacist.
• You will have the opportunity to undertake the Wizard Intern Pharmacist Training Program and learn alongside other Wizard Pharmacy interns in 2025. This program provides tailored intern exam preparation with workshops throughout the year. You will also have access to the WizzTraining portal for further training and education.

Your role:
• Support the day to day running of the pharmacy:
– Dispensing, prescription & OTC medication counselling, stock control, general dispensary administration, dose administration aid preparation, collaboration and communication with allied health care professionals.
• Professional service provision:
– Sleep apnoea therapy (sleep studies and trials), vaccinations, pharmacist prescribing, wound care and health checks.

About you:
• You have will have completed a Bachelor or Master of Pharmacy degree before 2025
• You have a right to work in Australia and are flexible to meet the trading requirements of the pharmacy.
• You are trained to vaccinate
• You are friendly and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills and are a team player.
• You are patient focused and are interested in building strong relationships with customers and the community
• You have a keen attention to detail, prioritise accuracy and are dedicated to lifelong personal and professional development.

• Note: previous pharmacy experience (with dispensing, OTC counselling and retail procedures) is highly desirable!
